Where to get a certified divorce decree in Indian River County

In Indian River County, the certified copy comes from the Indian River County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller in Vero Beach.

The Clerk electronically certifies Official Records, including recorded marriage licenses, deeds and final judgments, through Clerk eCertify; records restricted from online viewing must be certified in person. An official electronic certified copy, printed exactly as delivered, can be used for the apostille — send us a photo first if you're unsure.

Meet us in person: our West Palm Beach office (500 S Australian Ave, Suite 6088B) takes appointments Monday–Friday, 9 AM–6 PM. Or order online and ship by FedEx.

What the copy must look like

A complete copy of the final judgment of dissolution of marriage, certified by the Clerk of Court with an original wet-ink certification or the clerk's official e-certification. The state fee is $20 ($10 apostille + $10 certificate of incumbency), already in our price. If the receiving country accepts the one-page dissolution certificate instead, it must be signed by the State Registrar or a Clerk of the County Court and certified in 2014 or later.

State fee: $20 — included in our $220. Fees the Indian River County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller charges for the certified copy are not included.

Why divorce decrees get rejected

  • Plain, conformed or attorney copy instead of the clerk-certified judgment
  • Notarized photocopy of the decree
  • Missing pages or attachments the foreign office needs, such as a settlement agreement
  • Divorce granted in another state

$220 per document, $380 for two and $160 each for three or more — the state fee, request form, in-person filing in Tallahassee and FedEx shipping inside the U.S. are included. Shipping the finished apostille is a flat $100 per order.

Not included: whatever the issuing office charges for the certified copy or certificate, and notarization (online notarization is $40 for the first document — $10 notarization fee + $30 technology platform fee — and $20 for each additional one).

Common questions

From the Indian River County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller in Vero Beach. Ask for a certified copy — a plain copy or printout can't be apostilled.
No. Only the Florida Department of State in Tallahassee issues Florida apostilles. The county office certifies the record; we take it from there.
The decree is the full court judgment; the certificate is a one-page vital record that summarizes it. For remarriage or civil-status updates abroad, many authorities want the full judgment, so ask the receiving office before you order.
Documents certified by a Florida Clerk of Court cost $20 at the state: $10 for the apostille plus $10 for a certificate of incumbency confirming the clerk. Our $220 price already includes it.
