Diplomas, degrees, and transcripts.

Diplomas and transcripts from Florida high schools, colleges, and universities can be apostilled — but they require notarization first. Unlike vital records (which come pre-certified with an embossed registrar seal), diplomas don't have an inherent state-recognized seal that FL DOS can authenticate directly. The standard process: (1) the document gets notarized — either by the school's registrar (preferred, more authoritative) or by a Florida-commissioned notary attesting to the signature, (2) the Florida Department of State authenticates the notary's commission and issues the apostille.

We work regularly with diplomas and transcripts from University of Florida (UF), Florida State University (FSU), University of Central Florida (UCF), University of South Florida (USF), Florida Atlantic University (FAU), Florida International University (FIU), University of Miami, Miami Dade College, Palm Beach State College, Lynn University, Keiser University, Nova Southeastern University, and Florida high schools across the state. Most large Florida universities offer registrar notarization for a small fee ($10–$25), which is the cleanest path. For graduates who can't easily return to campus, we can notarize the diploma at our West Palm Beach office or during a mobile pickup appointment.

For sealed official transcripts: request the official transcript from the school (sealed envelope, sent directly to you or to us), then have the sealed envelope itself notarized — the notary attests to the seal being intact. We then apostille the notarized envelope. Foreign universities, credential evaluators like WES (World Education Services), ECE, and Josef Silny prefer transcripts that arrive still-sealed.

Who needs apostilled diplomas & transcripts.

These are the most common reasons our customers apostille their educational credentials.

International Teaching

International schools in the Middle East, Asia, Latin America, and Europe require apostilled teaching credentials. Florida teachers heading to UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Korea, China, and Japan use us routinely.

Foreign Graduate Programs

Graduate programs in Italy, Spain, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, and elsewhere require apostilled undergraduate diplomas and transcripts as part of the admission file.

Professional Licensing Abroad

Doctors, nurses, lawyers, engineers, accountants, architects, and pharmacists need apostilled diplomas and transcripts to qualify for foreign professional licenses.

Credential Evaluation (WES, ECE)

International credential evaluators (WES World Education Services, ECE, Josef Silny) accept apostilled diplomas for evaluation in support of immigration, employment, or further education applications.

International Work Visas

Many foreign work visa applications — especially in regulated industries like healthcare, education, and engineering — require apostilled proof of educational credentials in addition to the background check.

Diplomatic & Consular Submissions

Foreign consulates in Miami and Orlando request apostilled academic credentials for visa interviews and credentialing in their home country.

Pick the way that fits your life.

All three options end the same way — your apostilled documents back in your hands in 5–7 business days, filed in person at the Florida Department of State.

Common questions.

Yes. Florida-issued diplomas don't have an inherent state-recognized seal that FL DOS can authenticate directly. The diploma must be notarized first — preferably by the issuing school's registrar (most large Florida universities offer this for $10–$25), or by a Florida-commissioned notary attesting to the signature. We can notarize at our West Palm Beach office or via mobile pickup if you're in Palm Beach or Broward County.
Yes — and sealed transcripts are actually preferred for foreign use. Keep the transcript in its sealed envelope, get the envelope itself notarized (the notary attests to the seal being intact), and we apostille the notarized envelope. Foreign universities and credential evaluators like WES want to see that the transcript hasn't been opened.
Age doesn't affect apostille eligibility. We've apostilled diplomas from the 1960s. The only requirement is that the document is notarized properly before submission to FL DOS.
No — only the issuing school can replace a diploma. Most Florida universities offer replacement diploma services for $20–$100. Once you receive the new diploma, we apostille it. Same with replacement transcripts.
Depends on what the receiving institution is asking for. Many foreign universities want both apostilled diploma and apostilled transcript. Some only want the transcript. Some only want the diploma. Check the requirements with the receiving institution before ordering — you don't want to over-apostille and waste money.
Yes. WES (World Education Services) is the most common U.S. credential evaluator and accepts apostilled foreign and domestic diplomas. The apostille adds a layer of government authentication WES requires for documents from certain countries. For Florida diplomas being evaluated for use abroad, the apostille satisfies the receiving country's authentication requirement.
