Birth Certificate Apostille in St. Petersburg.

Florida birth certificates are issued by two authorities: the Florida Bureau of Vital Statistics in Jacksonville (mail-order, statewide) or the county vital records office in the county where the birth occurred. For births in Pinellas County, certified copies are available from the Pinellas County Health Department vital records office. Only these certified copies — with the registrar's signature and the embossed state or county seal — can be apostilled. Hospital "souvenir" birth certificates, photocopies, and laminated certificates cannot be apostilled by the Florida Department of State.

If you don't currently have a certified copy of your Florida birth certificate, you have two options before we can apostille it: order one online from the Florida Bureau of Vital Statistics (4–6 weeks by mail, faster by overnight processing) or visit the Pinellas County Health Department vital records office in person. Once you have the certified copy, we handle everything else — review, filing at the Florida Department of State in Tallahassee, and return shipping. If you're not sure whether your copy qualifies, call us first or bring it to our West Palm Beach office for a free review.

Italian citizenship by descent (jure sanguinis) is the single most common reason St. Petersburg residents apostille their birth certificates, but we see them used for foreign marriages, work visas, international school enrollment, dual citizenship applications in Poland and Ireland and Portugal and Germany, and any other situation where a foreign government needs to verify a U.S. birth record. Payment is collected online when you place the order — credit card or ACH. Drop-off at our West Palm Beach office is also available at the same $190 price if you can travel.

Why St. Petersburg residents need a birth certificate apostille.

Every week we help dozens of Pinellas County residents authenticate their documents for use abroad. These are the most common reasons birth certificate apostille services are requested.

Italian Citizenship (Jure Sanguinis)

By far the most common use. Italian consulates require an apostilled birth certificate for every ancestor in your direct line of descent. We process these regularly for St. Petersburg residents.

Foreign Marriage

Marrying in another country? Most foreign governments require an apostilled U.S. birth certificate to confirm your identity and unmarried status before issuing a marriage license.

Dual Citizenship Applications

Polish, Irish, Portuguese, German, Lithuanian, and other dual citizenship programs require apostilled birth certificates for every ancestor in your line of descent. St. Petersburg residents from these heritages keep us busy.

International Work Visa

UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Singapore, Korea, China, and most EU work visas require an apostilled birth certificate as part of the background-check package.

International School Enrollment

Foreign universities and international schools — especially in Europe and Asia — request apostilled birth certificates as part of the enrollment file.

Adoption & Family Reunification

International adoption cases and foreign family reunification proceedings require apostilled birth certificates for the adopted or sponsored child.

Common questions.

Yes — provided it's a certified copy issued by the Florida Bureau of Vital Statistics or by the Pinellas County Health Department vital records office. Hospital souvenir certificates, photocopies, and laminated copies cannot be apostilled. If you're not sure whether your copy qualifies, send us a photo or bring it to our West Palm Beach office for review.
Two ways. Order online from the Florida Bureau of Vital Statistics at floridahealth.gov (4–6 weeks by mail, faster by expedited delivery). Or visit the Pinellas County Health Department vital records office in person if you were born in Pinellas County. Once you have the certified copy, send it to us and we'll handle the apostille.
We can guide you through the ordering process but we don't order birth certificates on behalf of customers because Florida requires the eligible person to request their own. Once you have the certified copy in hand, we take it from there.
Yes — and not just yours. Italian citizenship by descent requires apostilled birth certificates for every ancestor in your direct line of descent (parent, grandparent, etc.) who connects you to your Italian ancestor. We process these bundles regularly. Bundle pricing applies: $300 for 2 documents, $130 each for 3 or more.
5–7 business days from the moment we receive your certified birth certificate. For St. Petersburg residents, online order is the most convenient — we email you a FedEx QR code, you drop your envelope at any FedEx, and we handle the rest.
Translation depends on the destination country. The apostille itself is issued in English with French and Spanish field labels. For receiving-country requirements (Italian consulates require a certified Italian translation, for example), we can recommend translators. Translation is typically done after the apostille is applied.
