How a Florida bank statement is used in Venezuela

This is occasional for Venezuela. A Florida bank statement may be needed to show the origin of funds when buying property in Venezuela, to support a visa or residence application by a foreign spouse, or as evidence in a succession that includes U.S. accounts. A printout from online banking can't be apostilled. Either a bank officer signs a letter or statement before a notary, or a Florida notary certifies a copy as a true copy, and that notarization is apostilled. Ask what period and format the Venezuelan side wants.

Getting a bank statement Florida will apostille

The statement or bank letter must carry a complete Florida notarial certificate: a bank officer's signature acknowledged in a representative capacity (or sworn), a Florida attested-copy certificate, or a jurat on your sworn statement with the statement attached. Every page must be included, and the notary must be commissioned in Florida.

Ask your branch for a reference letter signed before a Florida notary, or use the attested-copy or sworn-statement route, both of which can be done through our online notarization add-on: $40 for the first document ($10 notarization fee + $30 technology platform fee) and $20 for each additional document. Bank fees and notarization are not included in our $220.

State fee for this document: $10 — included in our price. Full details on the bank statement apostille page.

Who receives it in Venezuela — and translation

Births and marriages that happened abroad are recorded at the municipal registro civil offices. SAIME issues cédulas and passports once the birth is registered. Powers of attorney, property and companies go through notaries and registries under SAREN (Servicio Autónomo de Registros y Notarías), and estates involve the succession declaration filed with SENIAT. Venezuelan consular services in the U.S. have been disrupted for years, so check current availability before relying on a consulate.

Our standard for a translation is a translator's certification, notarized by a different notary, with its own Florida apostille. Venezuela may instead require an intérprete público: under the Ley de Intérpretes Públicos (2022), official translations with public faith are made by titled translators registered in the national registry kept by the Ministry of Interior, Justice and Peace. Ask the registro civil, notary or registry which version it accepts, and translate after the apostille.

We could not verify a general age limit for Florida documents in Venezuela. The clock that matters most is birth registration: the Chacao registry, for example, sets 90 days after the birth before a late-registration letter is needed.

Four steps, one week

  1. Order online

Pick the document and destination country on the order form and pay by card. After we review your documents, FedEx emails you a prepaid label.

  2. Send it — or sign online

Drop the envelope at any FedEx location. Not signed yet? Add online notarization and there is nothing to ship.

  3. We file in person

We review it, then walk it to the Florida Department of State in Tallahassee for the apostille.

  4. Returned to you

Back in 5–7 business days — anywhere in the U.S., or abroad for a flat $100.

Why bank statements get rejected

  • Medallion signature guarantee instead of a notarization
  • Letter notarized at an out-of-state bank office
  • Pages missing, or added after notarization
  • Statement older than the consulate's cutoff

What it costs for Venezuela

$220 per document, $380 for two and $160 each for three or more — the state fee, request form, in-person filing in Tallahassee and FedEx shipping inside the U.S. are included. Shipping the finished apostille to Venezuela is a flat $100 per order.

Not included: whatever the issuing office charges for the certified copy or certificate, and notarization (online notarization is $40 for the first document — $10 notarization fee + $30 technology platform fee — and $20 for each additional one).

Common questions

Yes, once it's notarized: either signed by a bank officer before a notary or certified as a true copy by a Florida notary. Ask the Venezuelan notary or lawyer what period it must cover.
No. A signature guarantee is a banking stamp for securities transfers, not a notarial act, and the Florida Department of State won't apostille it.
If the statements are combined into one notarized document, it's one apostille. Separate notarizations are separate documents, so ask us before you notarize.
Yes. Choose international return at checkout: a flat $100 per order, tracked international shipping to any address in Venezuela. Shipping inside the U.S. is included.
Not on the U.S. side — no embassy or consulate legalization. Venezuela may still ask for a translation; as a rule it should be certified by the translator, notarized and apostilled too.
