How a Florida power of attorney is used in Israel
Floridians with family or property in Israel sign POAs so a relative or lawyer can buy or sell an apartment, deal with the Land Registry (Tabu), manage a bank account or run an inheritance case. You have two routes: sign at an Israeli mission, which offers signature verification, or sign before a Florida notary and apostille it. Israeli lawyers often draft the POA in Hebrew with an English version; make sure the Florida notarial certificate is complete. Ask your lawyer which route the receiving office prefers.
Getting a power of attorney Florida will apostille
Signed by the principal and two subscribing witnesses, with a complete Florida acknowledgment certificate in English (venue, presence or online box, date, ID type, notary's signature and seal). The body can be bilingual or in the destination language. The state checks the notarization, not the powers granted, so have the foreign lawyer or notary approve the wording before you sign.
Get the draft from the foreign lawyer, notary or bank that will use it, then sign before a Florida notary in person or through our online notarization add-on: $40 for the first document ($10 notarization fee + $30 technology platform fee) and $20 for each additional document. Remote witnesses must be physically in the U.S. while witnessing. Notarization and legal drafting are not included in our $220.
State fee for this document: $10 — included in our price. Full details on the power of attorney apostille page.
Who receives it in Israel — and translation
The Population and Immigration Authority's Population Registry records marriages, divorces, births and deaths, usually through Israeli missions when you're abroad. Aliyah files go through the bodies handling immigration eligibility. The Registrar of Inheritance handles inheritance orders, and the Land Registry (Tabu) handles property. The Consulate General of Israel in Miami serves Florida.
For registering a change of personal status, gov.il requires a notarized translation only for certificates not in Hebrew, English or Arabic, so English Florida certificates usually need none. If another office asks for Hebrew, our rule applies: a translation certified by the translator, notarized by a different notary and apostilled in Florida.
Israel has no single expiry for apostilled documents. Aliyah files and some offices may want recent police records or civil-status documents, so check your file's list before ordering.
