How a Florida certificate of status is used in Turkey

Turkish trade registries, banks and notaries want to see that a Florida company is active today. A certificate of status from the Florida Division of Corporations is the closest Florida equivalent to what Turkish practice calls an activity certificate, but it doesn't name who represents the company. Pair it with a resolution naming the authorized person. Turkish offices often want it recently issued, so order it close to filing, and apostille and translate it together with the rest.

Getting a certificate of status Florida will apostille

The original certificate of status, or a new certificate requested together with the apostille; never a photocopy or scan. It can only show the company as active if the annual report is filed and the entity hasn't been dissolved, and it speaks only for the date it was issued.

Order it from the Division online or by mail (listed at $8.75 for corporations, $5 for LLCs and $8.75 for partnerships by mail), or let us request a fresh certificate with the apostille using the two separate payments the state requires. The Division's fee is not included in our $220.

State fee for this document: $10 — included in our price. Full details on the certificate of status apostille page.

Who receives it in Turkey — and translation

Turkish consulates register civil-status events in Türkiye's civil registry (nüfus). In Türkiye, the Presidency of Migration Management handles residence permits, the land registry (Tapu) handles property, notaries and civil courts of peace issue certificates of inheritance, municipal marriage offices handle weddings, YÖK handles degree equivalence, and the trade registry handles companies. The Consulate General of Türkiye in Miami serves Florida.

Turkish offices expect a Turkish translation. Turkish consulates in the U.S. accept a translation by a sworn translator, certified by a U.S. notary and apostilled, which matches our rule: certified by the translator, notarized by a different notary and apostilled in Florida. In Türkiye, a sworn translator's translation approved by a Turkish notary is the alternative. Ask the Turkish consulate in Miami whether the translator must be registered on its list.

Municipal marriage offices commonly treat documents as valid for 6 months (180 days). Other offices set their own limits, so order fresh certified copies close to filing.

  • Letter from an accountant or registered agent instead of the Division's certificate

Common questions

It usually serves that purpose, with a resolution naming the representative. Ask your Turkish lawyer to confirm, then apostille and translate both.
Yes, for practical purposes. Florida's Division of Corporations calls it a certificate of status; other states and foreign institutions usually say good standing.
The foreign bank or registry sets the limit. Ask for their maximum age and order the certificate last, so it is as fresh as possible when you submit it.
Yes. Choose international return at checkout: a flat $100 per order, tracked international shipping to any address in Turkey. Shipping inside the U.S. is included.
Not on the U.S. side — no embassy or consulate legalization. Turkey may still ask for a translation; as a rule it should be certified by the translator, notarized and apostilled too.
