How a Florida affidavit is used in Turkey
Turkish offices seldom accept a Florida affidavit as standalone proof. It appears as supporting evidence: a statement explaining different name spellings between U.S. and Turkish records, a declaration requested by a Turkish bank, or a statement in an inheritance case. Many Turkish offices prefer a declaration made at the Turkish consulate. If a Florida affidavit is accepted, it must be sworn before a notary with a full jurat, apostilled, and translated into Turkish with notarial approval in Türkiye.
Getting a affidavit Florida will apostille
A sworn statement with a complete Florida jurat (“sworn to (or affirmed) and subscribed” before the notary) showing venue, presence or online box, date, your name and ID type, plus the notary's signature and seal. An acknowledgment may still be apostilled, but a foreign office may treat it as unsworn. The statement can be in another language; the certificate must be in English.
Write the statement yourself or use the receiving office's wording; a notary who isn't an attorney can't draft it for you. Swear to it before any Florida notary or through our online notarization add-on: $40 for the first document ($10 notarization fee + $30 technology platform fee) and $20 for each additional document. Notarization is not included in the $220 apostille price.
State fee for this document: $10 — included in our price. Full details on the affidavit apostille page.
Who receives it in Turkey — and translation
Turkish consulates register civil-status events in Türkiye's civil registry (nüfus). In Türkiye, the Presidency of Migration Management handles residence permits, the land registry (Tapu) handles property, notaries and civil courts of peace issue certificates of inheritance, municipal marriage offices handle weddings, YÖK handles degree equivalence, and the trade registry handles companies. The Consulate General of Türkiye in Miami serves Florida.
Turkish offices expect a Turkish translation. Turkish consulates in the U.S. accept a translation by a sworn translator, certified by a U.S. notary and apostilled, which matches our rule: certified by the translator, notarized by a different notary and apostilled in Florida. In Türkiye, a sworn translator's translation approved by a Turkish notary is the alternative. Ask the Turkish consulate in Miami whether the translator must be registered on its list.
Municipal marriage offices commonly treat documents as valid for 6 months (180 days). Other offices set their own limits, so order fresh certified copies close to filing.
